Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a common infectious disease among cats.
When cats are diagonised with FIV, owners get worried, potential adoptors back off and some "rescue groups" even demand that FIV+ cats be euthanised.
FIV+ cats are abandoned or given up to rescurers. But rescurers are not the solution to FIV.
The amount of misinformation, ignorance and prejudice deprives FIV+ cats the opportunty to lead a healthy, happy and long lives.
The solution is in change of attitude.
